West Bromwich Albion 4 Burnley 0 Burnley haven't won a league game at West Bromwich Albion since December, 1969 and that wait goes on after another night to forget at the Hawthorns.  

   The Clarets have now lost nine of their last 10 visits to the highest ground in the country to face the Baggies in a league fixture. 

   And once again the West Midlands venue proved too great a barrier to breach as Burnley suffered a repeat of the defeat they suffered on their last visit here in 2014. 

   That was one of the Clarets' worst performances on their last visit to the top flight and Sean Dyche's men again turned in an uncharacteristcally tame display against a side happy to cruise to only their second home win of the season to go above Burnley and up to ninth place in the Premier League. 

   Having drawn 0-0 at Manchester United in their last away game to earn a first point away from Turf Moor this season, Burnley failed to match the discipline and determination they showed at Old Trafford as their three-match unbeaten run came to a disappointing end. 

   Two early goals allowed Albion to dictate almost from the off and with Burnley then having to try and chase the game, it was tailor-made for Tony Pulis' men to further pick them off with further goals either side of the break on their way to their biggest win of the season. 

   Given their record here, the last thing Burnley needed was to go behind early but in a disastrous start the Baggies scored twice in the opening quarter of an hour to take control.

SD has gone for 4-5-1 again:
Heaton, Lowton, Keane, Mee, Ward, Gudmundsson, Marney, Defour, Arfield, Hendrick, Vokes. I am pretty optimistic we can get something from this.

Weak and woeful, no threat whatsoever, no pace, pass it around and get nowhere...pass it around and lose it. Not one player has the speed to break into space.
Defour... when will he play a full game. Lowton dire, Arfield dire, Hendricks ineffective.
This was a squirmfest.

Reality check, if I was Sean I'd be onto Spurs first thing in the morning, how much to get Trippier back. Then I'd be working on that CM and winger we need, because if we don't sign them we're going back down.

Our home form has disguised the failings so far, and put us into something of a false position, we can still stay up but it needs investment in January.

One of the problems was we were allowed to try and play a bit of football...It had the players and Dyche flummoxed.

I believe that display ranks as one of the worst I have seen for a long long time, Absolutely no ides from anyone as to what to do, totally clueless. Soapy is right West Brom allowed us to play and we did not know what to do.
Joey with his experience would have helped us tremendously he would have been the leader on the pitch that we were crying out for.

Anyways onwards and upwards, it's only Citeeh next, 3 points in the bag.

We don't normally play 'football' because we're not good enough to at this level. Nothing Dyche can do about it, get the best 11 you can on the pitch and hope the board will allow him to bring in some better players in January.

In the meantime, changes of formation, different tactics, earlier/later substitutions, whatever, just like ear-rings on a pig, they aren't going to make a whole lot of difference.

Win one game a everyone is talking about European football next season. Loose one and we're getting relegated. How many times does Dyche have to prove you wrong ?

Pullis is pound for pound the best manager bar none..in any league.SD's comments after the game suggest he has had a football epiphany following the revelations from this game.We shall see, my comment would be that 5 players whose job title is midfielder playing on the park at the same time with no speedy outlet for their efforts is like having ti** on a bull.............pointless.

the other would be Ulvestad... oh eck he let him go... ok Boyd
that means you can also play Tarkowski at the back...
and include Gray as one of the two strikers... Barnes for me

I could be proved wrong but I don't think SD will drop Vokes anytime soon.He won't want to jeopardise his International career.

4 goals against was a bigger problem than 0 for....put another way it would demonstrate defense was a greater problem than attack.Based on past results it would not be sensible to base future performances on this last one.
