The Clarets got their first Premier League point on the board but will wonder how it wasn’t three after an hour-long siege of St Mary’s.

Sean Dyche’s men dominated for long periods and created more than enough chances in an outstanding performance to have repeated their opening-day win at Chelsea a year ago. But top-class goalkeeping from Alex McCarthy kept the Saints alive and what looked an incorrect offside call denied Jack Cork what would have been an early winner on his return to a former home. Second half they changed from 5 at the back to 4-4-2 and we never adjusted. They got back into the game and could have won it.
Ings and Ash both came on with about half an hour to go. Ings was the best player on the field. Ash huffed and puffed.

Man we looked good first half. if Dufour was there to deliver that final pass then we would have won,
Disappointed in JBG and Lennon. They didn't generate much for us

JayRod was good but not in the same class for me. If he wasn't a local boy not sure that there would be the clammering to have him back.
