Finishing touch still missing as Clarets come up just short again

The Clarets again fell the wrong side of the slenderest of margins as things start to become equally tight again at the bottom end of the Premier League.

For the third time in four games, Burnley lost by a single goal as they slipped a place below Brighton to 17th spot in the table.

An early strike from Michail Antonio was enough to give West Ham a third successive win in league and cup as they stayed comfortably in the top half.

But the Clarets’ cushion at the other end is being diminished as their struggles in front of goal continue.

The introduction of Dwight McNeil – who announced his arrival on the Premier League stage against West Ham a couple of years ago – prompted a second-half fightback.

But Burnley’s efforts are currently being hamstring by a shortage of firepower as a third successive away game without a goal – and the joint lowest tally in the top tier – leaves them with work to do with two more trips to come and just one home game before the end of the month.

Once again little threat from the front, looked better when Vyds and Jay were together.
Tight margins again, but hey oh onwards and upwards.
Come on ALK we need summat spending.

It is clear now that SD does have an obsession with Wood & Barnes.
Ok, It has worked but it now appears to have been well & truly sussed out.
A new dimension is urgently required.

Jay is quality and ever improving (injury allowing), as for Vydra he needs a run to allow his team mates to adjust to a different style of provision which will hopefully stretch the onion net. We have been sussed, leaving us as seasons progress with an ever later time lag to start stacking the points. Wood and Barnes are unfortunately predictable. They have a place but we need to mix things up.
defensively we are top tier so it's not all bad. Don't do negative is good, don't do change isn't. Lincoln took us to the cleaners, that was attitude and strategy, we need a bit of that.

Unfortunately SD is a bit myopic when it come to Wood and Barnes. Well actually, not a bit, a lot.

To be honest, I am really struggling with him this year and it isn't just the Wood / Barnes thing.
