Part four of our summer squad number feature Squad numbers were introduced for the first time in the 1999/2000 season and a generation of Clarets have since put their own special mark on a particular shirt.

 Repeating a series by contributor Wallace Chadwick which ran in the on-line Turf matchday magazine during the 2020/21 season, we will be highlighting who wore what and profiling some of those who made their mark at Turf Moor.

 This edition puts the spotlight on number one - traditonally the first-choice goalkeeper's jersey currently worn by England man Nick Pope.

Tom Heaton for me, extremely consistent for us, (Sm152) just has the edge over The Pope.

Pope is OK, but imo not in the same league as Tom Heaton, our best keeper since Adam Blacklaw.
