The Clarets did have several sights on goal at Old Trafford, but Lennon’s strike was the only time we hit the back of the net, as we move on to Sunday’s match at Leeds United. Lennon and Wayne Hennessey were both handed starts at Old Trafford. Also included in the line up for the Clarets was Matt Lowton, making his 150th Premier League appearance for the Club. Lining up in their all white away strip, Burnley, playing their first game in 18 days, were roared on by more than 2,000 travelling supporters. The first opportunity of the half fell the way of Burnley, as Lowton put in a back post cross onto the head of Chris Wood, but he couldn’t connect with the ball to test David De Gea. Burnley were on the front foot, and a quick break away, led by Lennon, resulted in Wood bending a shot just wide of the post. To read the full match report please click on the link below; |
