Clarets Seal Weghorst Deal

Burnley Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Netherlands international Wout Weghorst from VfL Wolfsburg for an undisclosed fee.

The 6’6-foot centre forward has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract at Turf Moor and will link up with his new teammates for training on Monday ahead of next weekend’s Premier League match against Watford. Weghorst, capped 12 times by his country, has scored 59 goals in 118 Bundesliga appearances for Wolfsburg over the past three and a half seasons, and featured for Netherlands at Euro 2020, finding the back of the net in a 3-2 win against Ukraine. Weghorst has shown his credentials in front of goal throughout his career, scoring more than 50 goals in the Eredivisie during spells at Heracles and AZ Alkmaar prior to his move to Germany. Is it true this fella is not vaxinated and thats the only reason we signed him The club doesnt monitor players Other clubs in England Spain and Germany were after him but waved it off as he wasnt vaccinated also has he had covid Is this TRUE

Crying out loud Shaun all im asking is if hed been Vaxed would he himself had wanted to come to Burnley because other teams wanted him but pulled out because he wasnt vaxed

With all the flying in and out of the country over the last week, I think Wout must be vaccinated now as he didn’t have to quarantine on arrival.

Personally I hope he's not vaxxed, for his sake and ours. At his age he need have no concerns about Omicron, it is of no danger or threat to his health. On the other hand the risk of collapsing on the field of play with myocarditis, induced by the vaccines does seem real for young men of his age, which would not be good for either the club or the player himself.

Kaiapoi, I'm glad you enjoy living in NZ, it's a country I've long wanted to visit but I doubt, at my age and with the restrictions in place , that I ever will now. I wouldn't want to live there however, I have no desire to live in what is, in effect, a concentration camp. Although this seems to be one it's as hard to get into as it is to get out of.

How are things in NZ Kaiapoi, I see the protestors have been dispersed, are you anywhere close to being back to normal life yet ? Boris has dumped the regs here, so we are back to a sort of normality, but go into any supermarket and most people are still wearing masks, which doesn't strike me as particularly normal.

No if you are not double vaxed you cannot go into places to sit and eat No pubs or clubs you can go to supermarkets and on buses but you most wear a mask and you can get takeaways from drive throughs Things will change at the end of this month like you in the UK mandates will be taken off and we will have to live with it At the moment we are getting 1000s of new cases each day sorry for late reply utc

No problem with the late reply Kaiapoi, with the worrying state of the world at the moment, football msgboards are hardly a priority. Strangely there has been an uptick in the number of cases here in the last week or so, but no one seems to have a clue as to why.
At least you are out of range of Putin's nuclear arsenal, I don't think we in the UK are, although I think we do have the capacity to obliterate Moscow, so we should be OK...........probably.

The daily rate here is still high i thought yours would have come down Putin well what can one say about the mad man as long as he keeps his finger off the button re clarets its going to be hard but i think we will be fine a point will decide the end result but dyche will have to do abit of changing positions around an drop some players for a game Westwood to me is one of them If only jays shot had gone in
