Burnley were defeated 2-0 on their travels to the Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Ivan Toney scored twice in the final five minutes for Thomas Frank’s Bees to condemn the Clarets to a loss.

 Toney headed in Christian Eriksen’s 85th minute cross prior to converting a penalty after he was fouled by Nathan Collins, who received a red card.

 Sean Dyche made one change from last weekend’s game against Chelsea, with Maxwel Cornet returning to the starting line-up in place of Jay Rodriguez.

 Captain Ben Mee remained out through a knee injury, so Collins continued at centre-back alongside James Tarkowski who took the armband against his former club.

First-half

 The Clarets had an early opportunity in West London when Cornet was brought down by Vitaly Janelt for a free-kick.  Josh Brownhill bent his right-footed effort narrowly wide of David Raya’s bottom left-post.

Oh well, still not down but it is getting close. I cannot understand why SD insists on playing Cornet up front with Wout it does not work, Jay is much better in that position, also why does he insist on giving Weswood 90 minutes he has lost his way sideways backwards and passing to the opposition, not good enough.

Man City up next after a few weeks off.

McNeil needs dropping, one assist all season is not good enough (Weghorst has two assists already). Maxwel on the left wing, Jay upfront with Weghorst and Cork in for Westwood are the changes I would make.

Well, the bookies aren't giving us much hope.

Let's just see where we are at when we've beat Everton & Norwich. spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

That's it in a nutshell FL, we simply HAVE to beat Everton and Norwich or it's the Championship for us next season and no mistake. (Sm16)

Liverpool play Watford in the early kick off on Saturday. it is highly likely City will be two points behind before our match starts. To go from 12 points ahead at Christmas to 2 points behind might be something we can exploit as City will start to feel the pressure.

Could work the other way Mr K, instead of treating it as an easy three points for them and a pleasant afternoon out, , they might decide they really have to turn it on, god help us if they do.
