The Clarets fall to defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Burnley suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday as a Harry Kane penalty proved the decider.

First half Kevin Long, Matt Lowton and Maxwel Cornet came into the starting line up at Spurs, with James Tarkowski missing out through injury. Wout Weghorst and Aaron Lennon were named on the bench. Leading the line for the Clarets was Cornet and Ashley Barnes, with Burnley operating a five man defence at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The hosts were seeing plenty of possession in the opening stages of the game, with Burnley’s defence standing strong with important blocks, tackles and headers. Very proud of the lads today, they all put in an exceptional shift,
1st half they defended with their lives, 2nd half they took it to Spurs and were very unlucky not to get anything regarding points out of the game.
Just have to mention a few by name Collins was immense, Pope fanastic saves as usual, Barnes unlucky when he hit the post superb strike, Cork ran his socks of in the midfield
unfortunately the penalty was a penalty by the letter of the law which is an ass.
Villa away on Thursday, if we show the same passion and commitment you never know, we might just do it.
