Nick Pope starred in goal as ten-men Burnley moved out of the bottom three with a resolute 1-1 draw away at Aston Villa on Thursday night.

The Clarets were leading at half-time through Ashley Barnes' 44th minute penalty. But Villa levelled two minutes into the second-half, courtesy of Emiliano Buendia's well-taken volley. Matt Lowton was sent off late on, but Burnley held on to secure a point. James Tarkowski returned to captain Mike Jackson's starting line-up for the fixture in the Midlands, replacing Lowton in defence. To read the full match report please click on the link below; |

Well here we are guys, one game left and all we have to do is equal whatever Leeds do on Sunday and we stay up.
We didn't get much off the officials tonight, foul throw in the lead up to their goal, handball in the area very similar to the one at Spurs last Sunday and a rubbish sending off decision against Lowts, Weghorst should also have buried a chance late on. Good job we had Popey in the goals otherwise we would have got nowt.
Oh well roll on Sunday then we can put this to bed one way or another. Good luck guys they have worked hard over the last few games.

I keep reading that it's in our own hands. If only, the referee and VAR will have their say as well, which does not bode well for us.

More dodgy referring decisions last night. Is Paul Tierney a season ticket holder at Elland Road?

We'd have been down weeks ago but for Nick.
