Burnley reserves take on Bradford City reserves at Turf Moor tonight with a 7pm Kick Off. It is expected that Mark McGregor will make his comeback after being given the all clear by the clubs doctors.
The reserve team have had a dreadful start to the season and are currently bottom of the aptly named 'Pontins Holiday League Premier Division'.
They are at the bottom of the table because they have failed to pick up a single point in the 6 games that they have played so far. The defeats have been heavy with the Clarets conceding at least 4 goals at 5 of the games. The closest they came to picking up a point was the 2-1 defeat at the Turf against Walsall back in August, although the 4-3 defeat at Tranmere was harder to stomach as the Clarets conceded two goals late on.
Whilst Ronnie Jepson has McGregor back in the frame, he is also likely to include a few youngsters from the 1st team squad. Matt O'Neill and Joel Pilkington are the two in question and they will be hoping to impress tonight as they will both be looking to play some part in the weekends game at Brammall Lane. The club is unlikely to play any more experienced players as we're struggling to put a first team out as it is.
Bradford City will also be fielding a predominantly Youth team with the exceptions of Frazer McHugh and Nicky Summerbee who trained with the Clarets back in September prior to gaining a contract with the Yorkshire side.
As i said before, the game kicks off at 7pm and if your not doing anything why not pop along and cheer the young lads on!!!. Hopefully we will get our first points tonight
