SKY Sports today announced the live games they will be featuring upto the middle of February next year. Burnley do not feature in any of the games in the early part of the New Year instead SKY have selected an elite group consisting of Sheffield Utd(again), West Brom(again) and West Ham(again)
This is disappointing news for Burnley who definately won't be on SKY till at least the mid to end of February now unless we are chosen for FA Cup coverage.
Four of the games chosen today feature sides from the 1st Divison whislt there has also been two games chosen from the Nationwide 2nd Division to complete the list. Whilst i don't doubt that the teams at the top of the league are going to dominant the schedule surely the Clarets must have some appeal to SKY considering our recent record of throwing one in. The one thing that the Clarets are good at is scoring goals as well as letting them in which has to be the best reciepe for the neutral watching at Home.
Just to sort out some confusion that people have had regarding the Preston game. The game has been brought forward, on police advice, to a 12.30 kick off but the game will not be televised. SKY have chosen to show the Cardiff Vs Millwall game which kicks off at the same time and the Reading Vs Crystal Palace match will also be shown later on in the same day.
Just for the record the game to be shown in January are:-
West Brom Vs Walsall - 9th Jan 7.45pm
Gillingham Vs Sheffield Utd. - 10th Jan 5.35pm
Sheffield Utd. Vs West Ham - 17th Jan 5.35pm
Sheffield Wed. Vs Wycombe Wan. - 30th Jan 7.45pm
Brighton Vs Plymouth Argyle - 31st Jan 5.35pm
Ipswich Town Vs Wigan Athletic -7th Feb 5.35pm
