Reserves Finally Win

The Clarets fielded a strong side and had to come from behind to claim the victory which moves us off the bottom of the table and above Hull.

The reserve team recorded their first victory of the campaign last night in front of a sparsely populated Turf Moor. Fans had obviously been put off by the weather and the football on the tele but missed a good game in the process.

It was an usual line up for the Clarets with a number of First Teamer's lining up as opposed to a load of youngsters that had played in previous games.

Burnley started the better of the two sides and had a few decent chances before taking the lead in the 25th Minute when Alex Taylor headed in a Paul Weller cross. A deflected cross just before half time made the scores level which was harsh on Burnley.

Hull actually took the lead in the second half when Donaldson manage to squeeze his header into the net. Luke Chadwick, who was the best player on the pitch, brought us back into the game with a great free kick which he struck from outside the box. He added a second a short while later when he converted Matty O'Neill's cross to give the Clarets a deserved lead.

Chadwick, Weller, Roche and McGregor all played a full 90 minutes whilst the disappointing Facey was taken off shortly after the second half.

You could sense the relief the players felt with winning their first game of the season and now have to wait until the end of January for their next game.
