Where next for Gazza?

Paul Gascoigne has today left Wolves after conceding defeat in his quest to play Premiership football. Gazza's last game for Burnley against Coventry remains his last in English football.

Paul Gascoigne has left Wolves after admitting that he no longer would be able to compete at the highest level. The former England star had been training with Wolves for the last few weeks in a bid to regain his fitness and there was mounting speculation that Dave Jones would offer the former Claret a contract.

Gascoigne has now left Molineux after holding talks with Jones on Friday and he has returned to his native North East to think over his future.

"Gazza has decided that he will not reach Premiership level at the moment and he has gone away to think about his future," said Jones.

"It was a very amicable parting and Gazza has just decided that he cannot cut it at the present time.

"If he wants to come back here and train the door is open to him. He has been fantastic to have around the place and I am sure some other clubs will make him an offer."

Jones did say that Gazza could go back and train with the Midlands club in the future.
