Youngster Coming to Turf?

Reports in the South of England suggest that Stan Ternent is about to make another loan signing. Tottenham Hotspur youngster Jonathan Blondel is the player whose name has been touted.

According to Newspaper reports in London, Burnley are close to signing Jonathan Blondel from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Evening Standard has said that the Belgian midfielder is looking to come to Burnley on loan once he's recovered from his knee injury.

The Belgian was signed by previous manager Glenn Hoddle in the Summer of 2002 from Excelsior Mouscron for an undisclosed fee. He made his debut for Spursshortly after signing against Southampton as a second half substitute. Since then a number of injuries and a lack of opportunity has meant his first team chances have become limited.

Caretake manager David Pleat has said that he would like the 19 year old to gain some first team experience and there's no doubt that he would get that at Burnley when you consider how hard we've been hit when just one or two players pick up injuries.

Gareth Farrelly was the last player brought in to help the midfield and his move didn't work out so we can only hope that Blondel will make a bigger impact should he arrive.
