The reserve team recorded their second consecutive victory with a win at Walsall. Both of the victories have been recorded away from home within a week and have lifted the side off the bottom of the table.

Although the side was slightly weaker, in terms of experience, than the one fielded at Huddersfield it still contained Dean West, Alan Moore and Scott O'Neill. Alan Hunter and John Harrison were two of the trialists who played last week and both were given another run out.

The game was expected to be a tough one with Walsall well clear at the top of the table but a Rhys Carpenter goal was enough to settle the match and lift the side to 10th in the table.

The sides next game will be against Preston in a fortnight's time at the Turf.

The Youth team were meant to play Preston on Saturday but the game was called off due to the state of the ground at Gawthorpe. The game has been rearranged to be played on the 31st January with the usual kick off time at 11:00am.
