Away Followings

If anyone thought that Saturday's game against West Brom was going to be played in front of a bumper crowd, they'd better think again. Albion haven't sold many tickets and this comes as another financial disappointment to the club.

West Brom were initially allocated the whole of the Cricket Field Stand but the allocation was reduced to the standard 2,494 tickets that Burnley allocate every side.

Albion have today sent back over 700 tickets to Turf Moor meaning that just 1700 fans have bought tickets in advance, sure a couple of extra fans will pay on the gate but there are still going to be over 2000 empty seats which would have provided the club an extra £30,000.

The following will be the biggest that Burnley has seen this season but it is small compared to previous seasons when they've always brought at least 3000 up to the Turf regardless of where they've been in the league yet they are coming to Burnley in their strongest position in years.

The away followings at Burnley have been disappointing this season with only Palace and Cardiff bringing a respectable number of fans to the Turf. The only good thing in Burnley's favour is that there are a number of well supported clubs chasing promotion yet to come here. West Ham and Preston arrive in March, whilst Norwich and Derby(potentially) come in April before the final home game against Sunderland.

With the dire financial situation at Burnley, the club need as many fans as possible to turn up so let's hope club's will bring more fans than what West Brom will be doing.
