500 minutes of silence!

Young claret Abbi Fawcett is planning to do her bit for the "500 miles" campaign to help Burnley Football Club financially. She is going to do her very own sponsored silence!

Nicknamed "Gabbi Abbi" because she quite often prefers to use 24 words where others use 1! Abbi is committed to being totally silent for 500 minutes or 8 hours and 33 minutes to be precise!

Abbi is a Wigan based claret who has been supporting the clarets since she was three months old. Her first match was a 1-0 defeat to Scunthorpe United.

Her aim is to be silent between 7:10am on Saturday March 13th until the half time whistle at the Coventry away game. This mammoth challenge will see Abbi unable to talk during the whole coach journey down, during lunch and in the first half of the match - something most of us would not be brave enough to attempt!!

But come half time Abbi will be cheering on the team that little bit extra!

If you would like to sponsor Abbi then please send your cheques made payable to:

A Fawcett 500 miles

and send them to:

9 Darley Road, Wigan, WN3 5PG

or for more details email silence_burnley@hotmail.com

This is all about supporting our beloved football team Burnley FC and The Longsider website would like to wish Abbi all the best in her sponsored event.

Truly a great gesture from a top fan.
