Chappy in England Squad

Richard Chaplow has once again been called up to play for his country. He was called up for Under 19 match against Holland last month before being promoted to the Under 21 side.

Burnley midfielder Richard Chaplow has been called up to the England Under 19 squad for their forthcoming friendly game with Germany.

Dick Bates' team travel to Celle, near Hanover for the game, which takes place on Tuesday March 30 and Chaplow will be amongst the squad.

It is the final preparation match for the Under 19s ahead of their second European qualifying games in Slovenia in April, which they are hoping to win in order to progress to the Finals in Switzerland this summer.

19-year-old Chaplow was initially picked for the Under 19 squad to face The Netherlands last month, but was promoted to the Under 21 side by David Platt and he went on to make his debut as a substitute at Hull City's KC Stadium. Chappy came on in the last 10 minutes and ran his socks off in the brief time he was on the pitch.

He will not miss any Burnley games either, as the match falls between the trip to Bradford City on March 27 and the home clash with Norwich City on April 3.

Its another great recognition for Chaplow who has made the centre midfield position his own this season, he's picked up a player of the month award and will represent his country for the second time in the space of a month.
