Today's game at Turf Moor between Burnley and Wimbledon has been called off, not long after the club announced the Kick off had been delayed to 15:30.

Today's game at Turf Moor between Burnley and
Wimbledon has been called off, not long after the club announced the Kick
off had been delayed to 15:30. The reason they gave for this was down to
safety and the club called off the game saying that high winds were causing
safety problems. The post-ponement was down to an inspection between the club's safety officer, Alex Wood and the Lancashire Police who have deemed the Upper tier stands unsafe due to the high winds. This is a sensible action with the high winds possibly causing structural damage and may cause objects to fall off the top of the stands onto supporters below. Reports suggest that some fans have been blown over and the club don't want to take any risks of people being blown off the upper tier of the James Hargreaves and Jimmy McIlroy stands. |
