Defeats for Gillingham and Rotherham last night have given Burnley fans a welcome boost. Both of these sides were at home but thankfully neither managed to pick up a point.
Gillingham were well beaten 3-0 by Wigan Athletic. Nathan Ellington and Jason Roberts got two goals before half time and Alan Mahon added a third after the interval.
Rotherham also let in two goals in the first half in their match against Crystal Palace. Julian Gray and Neil Shipperley got the goals before Michael Proctor got a late consolation for the Millers.
The one other good piece of news saw Sunderland relegate Milton Keynes at some hockey pitch in Buckinghamshire last night.
The results mean that Rotherham remain two points ahead of Burnley having played a game more whilst Gillingham stay below us on goal difference but have also played an extra game than Burnley.
There's one fixture tonight in the division although it is of no conern to the Clarets with FA Cup finalists Millwall taking on Cardiff in South London.
