Arsenal Break Record
By The Longside
April 9 2004
Arsenal avoided defeat this afternoon in their match against Liverpool and as a result have now broken a record previously held by Burnley for over 80 years. They are now 31 games unbeaten in the league this season and pass the 30 mark which was set by Burnley back in 1921.
Burnley's unbeaten run ended on Easter Saturday but Arsenal went one better and have broken the record on Good Friday 2004.
The only other unbeaten record for them to break is the one held by Nottingham Forest of 42 games unbeaten, which was achieved over 2 seasons, and with Arsenal now unbeaten in 33 games they could well break it at the start of next season.
