Player of the Season announced........

Today we bring you the final result of our first ever 'Player of the Season' award. We opened the polls in April and the voting finished when the news of Stan's release began filtering through.

It will come as no surprise to Burnley fans that Robbie Blake has won our award after capturing 54% of your votes.

Blake finished the season with a total of 22 goals of which 19 were scored in the 1st Division. It is not only Blake's goalscoring that has helped him win the award but his overall contribution to the front line. He has been involved in most of our goals this season and has finished 3rd in the league in direct assists that have lead to goals.

Richard Chaplow came second in the poll with 15% of the vote. The youngster has completed his first full season and has forged an excellent partnership with Tony Grant in the centre of midfield. Glen Little came third with 8%.

The other main poll we have ran recently was about Stan and the board's decision to release him. 58% of you disagreed with the board's decision with only 33% backing Barry Kilby.......time will tell which group have got this one right.

Our polls are going to have a twist to them over the coming weeks as we will be letting you decide the ultimate team under Stan Ternent. Each week we will be allowing you to select you favourite player, under Stan, in a set position i.e. Best Keeper options could be Jensen, Beresford, Michopolous etc..

There will be a break in the polls at certain key stages such as the new manager, new singings but we will hopefully have the ultimate Stan Ternent team announced before the start of next season.

 This team will be stored on the website for fans to look at in years to come..........
