As we fast approach the beginning of our first full season online, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people who have visited over the last 8 months and to ask you to take two minutes to read the following piece.

The Longside unofficial Burnley FC website is fast approaching the beginning of its first season online. We have spent the last 8 months building, developing, hiring and learning in order to fine tune our engines and offer all you Clarets (where ever you may be) a unique and we hope pleasurable website experience.
We have attempted to mix serious stories with humour, speedy publishing with quality writing and allow you the opportunity to express your self - NO HOLDS BARRED!* We are proud of our independant image, that allows you to say anything you want about the Clarets on our messageboards (*as long as it is not abusive or illegal!!!) and as we give you the chance to get your own stuff published.
And what is more - this laid back style is here to stay!
Yes, all ready in time for the 2004-2005 season, the Longside has got more features, faster news, more journalists and a bigger voice to provide you clarets with a service that you both want and deserve. If you like the sound of this, please read on as we briefly summarise some of the exisiting and new features coming up!
* Daily news - All the big issues as they come out of Turf Moor. From rumours to signings to injuries, board room dramas to supporter's group information. We will have it all.
* Match previews, reports, and press reports. Get all the information you will need as we begin the roller coaster journey that is following the Clarets!
* MATCH LIVE! Can't make the game? No radio coverage? No worries. The Longside will provide you with all the big news as it happens, LIVE! Teams, cautions, injuries, substitutions, main events and goals - you just sit back and panic!
* Features = Ever wanted the killer facts to wow your mates at the pub? Ever wondered what goes on down the road at Ewood Park? Ever felt the urge to write your own views and get them published? Well the Longside is here - our journalist team is massive, because in our eyes you are all part of it, any Claret should have his or her voice heard! What is more we are planning to launch novel ideas such as an egroup to develop potential business ideas for the club. Why should we not pool our knowledge and offer suggestions to the powers that be?
* Messageboard (Improved) Independant thought is the greatest gift a person can have and we feel under no obligation to counter it. You can post any rumour and/or point you want as long as it is not abusive to fellow members or illegal, because that is not nice for you or us!
* The Longside Newsletter - Weekly summary of all the major news regarding the Clarets and a few little extras.

Yes we have used flowery language in our descriptions, but we make no apologies about being optimistic about the services we can offer to the best fans in football. We are spurred on by the thought that at the end of the day YOU are the people that make websites great, you are the ones who come back day after day, you are the ones that decide whether a website lives or dies and for this reason we are not here to preach our own views alone, but to provoke debate and join in!
