Moore Injury

Ian Moore is expected to be ruled out for the next few months following an announcment this morning. His injury is around the knee cap area and he is provisionally booked in for surgery today.

Moore has been carrying the injury for a while now and will have to have the operation. He may still be involved in the matches against Coventry and Derby, if this happens he will have surgery next week. Cotterill had this to say about the injury.....

"Ian has had the injury for a couple of weeks now, We have been pushing him as far as we can push him in games and that's about it really."

"Sooner or later, he's going to go down. We don't really know how long he could be out, because we won't know the severity of it until they have a look at it."

"It's a problem with his patella tendon and it's like a tendonitis there. It gives him a sharp pain underneith his knee cap. We have him provisionally booked in for Monday for the operation, but we might defer that until next week after the two home games."

When asked whether Moore would feature in the two home games Cotterill replied "We have to make a decision on that later today (Monday)."

The news is bad for Cotterill as the Clarets are short on numbers, in particular attacking players, and he had this to say about the situation

"It is a blow, but we've got to deal with it because there's no other way round it,"It just depends on several things really," he admitted."It depends on player availability, finances and I don't really know there at the moment."
