Clarets sign O'Connor

Whilst everybody has been filled with excitment over the win against Aston Villa and the subsequent draw of Tottenham, Steve Cotterill has been a busy man on the transfer front.

James O'Connor has arrived on a months loan from West Brom. The 25-year-old midfielder is a player that Cotterill knows well as he was the manager at Stoke at the time that O'Connor was making a name for himself.

O'Connor left Stoke in the Summer of 2003 for £250,000 and featured in 30 league games for the Baggies. He hasn't featured in the Premiership this season and his only game for the Albion was at Colchester in their Carling Cup defeat last month.

O'Connor, who will be in the squad for the game at QPR, had this to say....

"I've worked with the Gaffer before and he is a very good manager,The move came about quite quickly really, I was told about it and then spoke to the Gaffer and that was about it really."

"The lads have been doing really well this season since the Gaffer came in and once I knew Burnley were interested I wanted to come here "

"I'm a box-to-box midfielder really, O'Connor revealed, "I'll be looking to get into the team and play well whilst I'm here, but that's down to the Gaffer."
