NEW FEATURE- FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE

WHAT IS IT?

The Fantasy Premier League is a new feature from The Longside. You pick your 15-man squad, from Premier League players and guide your team through the season. It is completely free and just a bit of fun and the team with the most points at the end of the season wins! There has been a league created called ‘The Armchair Cotterill’s’ thought of by Luke McKavett. It is a league of football fans from The Longside message board and the clarets.net forum. As it says above, it is completely free and only requires you to pick a team then sit back and watch how your players do. You can make transfers, change formation and starting 11. The deadline for team selection each week is at 11:30am on the Saturday.

HOW CAN I JOIN?

If you have decided you wish to join then do the following;

1. Visit http://fantasy.premierleague.com and click the register button.

2. Enter your details here and click the Register button. Your username and password will be used to log in to edit your team.

3. Read the ‘Terms & Conditions’ section and then click ‘AGREE’ at the bottom to proceed.

4. You will be asked to select a team name. Think of a name and enter it in the gap.

5. You are also asked to select team colours. Tick the boxes to select the colours you want and press Preview Kit to the right to see your kit.

6. On the same page as the 2 above it asks if you want to be contacted by E-mail. Press “No email” if you don’t wish to receive team updates from Fantasy Premier League. If you wish to receive e-mail with images and a link to Fantasy Premier League site press “HTML format” or for plain text e-mail “Text format”

7. Press “Select Team” to proceed.

8. You will now be requested to pick a team. You will be required to pick a squad of 15 players, but don’t worry, you can change them! You will see a player leader board on the right of most points. You will be required to pick:

2 Goalkeepers

5 Defenders

5 Midfielders

3 Forwards

You can view all players by stats, position or club in the top drop down menu. To select a player click the player’s name. To deselect press the  button under the player. You have 100million to spend. You are also only allowed to pick 3 players from each Premiership team. When you have picked a team for 100 million or under and 3 or less players from each team press “Continue”. The next instructions are in the “What to do?” section below.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

 To start off with a screen with your side will appear. You can select whatever formation by doing the following e.g.

If you have Jose-Antonio Reyes

To make transfers press the “Transfers” button on the right hand navigation bar, then commence as if picking the team, but click the  button to drop a player and the player’s name of the player you wish to sign.

THE TABLE

Press “Leagues” in the right hand navigation bar. It asks you weather you want to “Create New League”, “Join a Private League” or “Join a Public League”. Under the “Join a Private League” heading type 372405-66256 and press join league. You are now a member of The Armchair Cotterill’s League!
