Crewe v Burnley Preview

Burnley take on Crewe tonight at Gresty Road after the original fixture was post-poned after a frozen pitch on Boxing Day following heavy snow, the day before.

The match could have been played earlier following a defeat to Liverpool in the FA Cup but our successful run has delayed the match by almost 2 months.

We're currently sitting above Crewe in 12th position with only 2 points between us, but with games in hand, we could edge ourselves closer to the play-off position in this penultimate game before we face Rovers in the cup.

Sinclair looks set to return but Duff had a great game on the right against Coventry on Saturday. Cahill, who picked up a knock on Saturday, could be left on the sidelines with Frank in his position instead.

The midfield will be re-inforced with new signing Whittington who looks set to start and the squad is now starting to look healthy in the run up to Sunday.

Crewe will be hoping Andy White can continue to net another goal in a bid to improve their recent form which has seen them without a win since the New Year. Since Dean Ashton left for Norwich in January, their form has struggled.

Recent signing Colin Murdock faces a fitness test while Luke Varney and Richard Walker look set to return.
