Cahill wins Player of the Season Award

Gary Cahill has become the 2nd player to win the official Longside Player of the Season Award. The poll has been running on the website for the last couple of weeks.

The two leading contenders were the same players who won most of the awards at the recent Supporters Clubs Player of the Season awards. John McGreal has had to settle for 2nd place this time despite picking up 23% of the vote. Robbie Blake, last seasons winner, came third despite leaving the club in January.

Gary Cahill, who has now returned back to Villa, won the award after receiving 33% of the vote. We'd like to thank Gary for all his efforts this season and wish him all the best in his career at Aston Villa.
