Steve Cotterill has added to the size of the squad out in Austria by offering Vladimir But a trial with the club. But will play his first game for the Clarets tonight when they face PAOK Salonika.
Vladimir But is a 27-year-old Russian midfielder. Although he is Russian by birth he does now have a German passport after spending most of his playing career in the Bundesliga. He has played for Borussia Dortmund, Hanover and Freiburg.
Steve Cotterill had this to say about the player....
"We sorted it out for him to come over, because it was easier for him to get here than it was to come to England.
"We've got him over just to have a look at him. He's a midfield player and has been with Borussia Dortmund and Hanover, so we'll look at him."
"We'll see how he gets on because we don't know an awful lot about him, it's just an opportunity while we're over here," he added.
"If we bring him to England, there are flights and hotels to be taken into consideration, whereas here we have a facility and with Artim Sakiri not staying with us, we had a spare place."
Cotterill then talked about the possibility of other foreign players joining the tour.....
"We need to look across the waters a little bit more because everything costs more money back home," he explained.
"There could potentially be another four people here this week, but we don't know at the moment and we're still trying to work on that.
"Whether they come off, we don't quite know because even to get a trialist in is a lot harder than people think.
"We have to look down all avenues we can really."
