Wayne Thomas Out for Season

The club have released some further news on Wayne Thomas' injury following the Reading game. The news is a big blow to the manager who see's another defender injured, but this time for the rest of the season.

Wayne Thomas who only joined the club in the summer will not play a further part in Burnley FC's 2005/2006 campaign after snapping his anterior cruciate knee ligaments and medial knee ligaments along with damaging the cartilage in the back of his knee.

Thomas picked up the injuries following a strange incident which saw ex-Claret, Glen Little, trip over the ball and onto Wayne in yesterday's league game against Reading.

Speaking about the news Steve Cotterill told the official website:

"All in all, Wayne won't play again this season.

"It is heart breaking for us, especially as he was starting to come into his own in the last few games.

"We now have to move on, but he will be kept in with us and we'll keep him involved.

"We'll make sure with his hard work, that he will make a full recovery."
