17 Year Old Southampton Midfielder, Nathan Dyer, has signed in on a 1 month loan. Dyer has made two appearances for the first team.

17 Year Old Southampton Midfielder, Nathan Dyer, has signed in on a one month loan. Dyer has made just 2 senior appearances for the Saints this season, both in the Carling Cup.

Nathan is a second year scholar at saints with 43 Reserve and Youth team appearances, scoring a total of 11 goals. 11 of those appearances were as substitute.

Although not a lot is known about him, the fact that he has broken into the First Team (albeit in the Carling Cup) and scored on his debut against Southend in Saints 3-0 first round win, shows he has promise. He played the full 90 minutes. In his second appearance Saints lost to Mansfield Town, 0-1, but again he played 90 minutes and was widely mentioned in the match report for his pace and balls into the box.

By all accounts he works very hard, is very fast, and gets in too scoring opportunites often.

Rumours are circulating that SC actually attempted signing Dextor Blackstock on loan. Blackstock reportedly refused to speak to SC prefering a move to Derby, but with no Carling Cup for Harry's men he offered us Dyer for some experience.
