Centre Half Wayne Thomas is making remarkable progress reports the official site. We look at the story and give thelongsides view.........

Unbelievable Progress made by Wayne!

Burnley centre half Wayne Thomas is reported today to have made an almost unbelivable step forward in his recovery from cruciate and medial ligament damge.

Burnley's official site at burnleyfootballclub.co.uk are reporting that Wayne has seen two surgeons to confirm

The official site quotes Steve Cotterill who says "We could, and I say could, have a big boost with Wayne Thomas in the fact that his anterior cruciate ligament has re-attached to his posterior cruciate ligament all the time he has been in a brace to repair his medial ligament

"He has been to see two surgeons who have said he needs to go away and try it out. At the moment he is rehabilitating with Andy Mitchell and we are waiting to see how it goes, but we are not putting any deadlines or pressure on Wayne.

It would be an unbelievable boost to the club, myself and Wayne Thomas if we get him back."

Although no date has been fixed on his return it is expected it could "well before" the end of this season!

'The Longside' says: This is fantastic news and surely gives everyone a great boost. You almost start wondering if this season could be coming together nicely and is further proof following last Saturday that our luck seems to have turned!

We should of course also remember Danny Coyne has the same injury and wish him as successful a recovery as possible.
