The news we've known was coming! Lee Grant, 22, from Derby County, signs on loan for one month and goes straight into the starting 11 on Saturday.

Clarets sign Keeper Cover

It has just been confirmed, after media speculation this morning, that we have signed Lee Grant from Derby County on 1 months loan.

Although only 22, Grant is a past England Under 21 Keeper and has 70 first team games for The Rams under his belt.

This isn't a surprise with us having no keeper for Saturday, but following a bbc.co.uk news story a couple of days ago, comes with a bit of interest in Grant saying he wanted away permanently.

There is no chance that SC will be looking to sign him permanently with Jensen back Next Tuesday and Danny Coyne under rehabilitation from his ligament injury.

Steve Cotterill said "We're delighted to have signed Lee from Derby on a month's loan and obviously he will go straight into the team on Saturday against Leicester.

"We welcome him to the club and we're thankful to Phil Brown who has loaned him out to us because it's hard trying to find a goalkeeper at any stage of the season.

"He has some good experience at this level and we certainly don't have to worry about him there so we're delighted to have him on board for the month."

'The Longside' says: This is good news in getting some time in training with the squad before Saturdays game. Also we have been able to get a keeper with some championship experience and, even though only one game, a chance to show prospective clubs what he can do.

So WELCOME LEE from all at thelongside.co.uk
