![]() Let's look at some statistics. As you will see above, Wednesday aren't on the best of runs at the minute! 9 games since their last win and a goal difference of minus 15! The last six games have seen them get one solitary point and they sit 23rd in the table with only the completely doomed Millwall below them. But what does this mean? It means we have to be very careful in our quest for 7 victories at Turf, on the trot! We've said it before, we'll no doubt say it again, we do well against the best and often lose against the worst! So, on to the teams. A hard fought game against some very shoddy tackles have left us with a few knocks, but the only one of note is John Spicer who has some sort of shin damage. We have no suspensions, but Steve said he will change throughout Christmas. The hope from fans is he will revert back 4-4-2 and set Elliott and Branch lose on their very iffy back four. As for Wednesday, they are expected to bring a couple back in with Sturrock being very unhappy in his team on Saturday. On the one hand he blames the lack of firepower, with their top scorer only having 6 in total this season, but -15 goal difference would appear to me as a defensive issue as well! I have a feeling we will see an "early" relegation dog fight sort of match but would go as far as to predict a comfortable win for the Clarets. With QPR away in two days time, the chance of 9 points taken over Christmas should surely been ours if we are to be serious play off contenders! UP THE CLARETS |
