Ed Abis to Leave BFC Burnley's Marketing & Communications Manager, Edoardo Abis, is set to leave his position on 18th February after 7 years at the club. During that time Ed has had to deal with some of the biggest highs and lows in years at the Turf. With promotion in season 99/2000, and administration minutes away, Ed has been an ever present, and his enthusiasm for everything Claret has never been in doubt. His new role will be based in London, Soho Square, as the Sports Marketing Manager for Reward. Reward is the largest sports loyalty company in Europe, operating the Reward Programme for more than 30 sports organisation across 5 disciplines, representing 4 million fans with a buying power in excess of £20 billion. Needless to say this is a very big opportunity for Ed. In communication with Ed recently he said "..at my age I need a new challenge and I believe it's a great opportunity. Thank you everyone, you have always been very supportive of me, and what I have tried to do, and I will genuinely miss you all. It’s great to think that I will still have such a great network of friends even when I leave and the internet means that no matter how far away you are you can always stay in touch, I will no doubt see you at away games down south!" We know he won't just be missed from the club but also from The Clarets Trust. As with the trust, we also can't thank him enough for his support to us here at The Longside. All of the Admin team, and I know many of our members, want to wish Ed all the best. He will be missed, but what an opportunity for him! Of course a London Clarets application and regular posting on here could surely be a benefit to him! |
