Striker loan bid rejected?

It has been reported that Premiership side Sunderland have rejected an approach by Burnley to take striker Andy Gray on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Lancashire Evening Telegraph has run a story claiming that both Burnley and Derby County have made moves to bring in Gray on loan.

Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy was willing to sell Gray for a fee during the transfer window, but has now blocked any loan moves for the player.

Other reports however suggest that Gray will be able to leave the club on a temporary basis when he recovers from his Achilles injury.

It looks though as if Gray will remain on Wearside for the time being, but we will keep you updated on developments as and when they happen.
