Andy Gray Transfer Completed

Andy Gray properly joins the Clarets following a £750,000 transfer from Sunderland in a contract that will see him at Turf Moor for the next three years.
Gray has been with the Clarets since mid-march on loan and the fans expected that the deal would mean he'd be joining permantly over the close-season. His contract will run until Summer 2009 and Sunderland are set to gain another £50,000 in that time once Gray has tallied up a set number of appearances. He became an instant hit netting all three of his goals for the Clarets in his first three games and the Burnley supporters will be hoping his form will continue next season and with this being the case that he won't become the Clarets third striker to leave in successive Januarys. Steve Cotterill told the Official Site: “We are delighted to finally complete the signing of Andy Gray. “He would have been a summer target anyhow, but we were fortunate to get him on loan first and he was like a new signing to us last season. “Having him at Turf Moor for those two months helped him to bed in ahead of next season and with the additions of Alan Mahon and, when the contract restrictions are lifted next month, Steve Jones, we are absolutely delighted at our three acquisitions.” Cotterill added: “It will always now be dependent on finances as to whether we can strengthen further.”
