from Sporting Life:

Manager Paul Sturrock has no new injury worries for Sheffield Wednesday's trip to his former club Plymouth.

Sturrock is still without six first-team players, but is not expected to make many changes to the side that beat Coventry 3-2 last time out.

Strikers Steve MacLean (broken leg) and Drew Talbot (back) remain long-term casualties, while defender Drissa Diallo (thigh), Steve Adams (Achilles), Paul Heckingbottom (hamstring) and Jon-Paul McGovern (thigh) also remain on the sidelines.

Midfielders Glenn Whelan and Chris Brunt are expected to return unscathed following international duty with the Republic of Ireland Under-21s and Northern Ireland respectively.

Defender Lee Bullen may have to settle for a place on the bench again and Lee Peacock is expected to resume his partnership with David Graham up front.

Plymouth right-backs Anthony Barness and Paul Connolly are injury doubts ahead of the fixture.

New boss Tony Pulis will give Barness (hamstring) and Connolly (thigh) as near to the game as possible to prove their fitness.

In the meantime, the Argyle squad has been boosted by the early return of Northern Ireland left-back Tony Capaldi, who plays in midfield for Plymouth.

Argyle are also set to be given another boost by the return of match-winner Akos Buzsaky, who scored in the 2-1 home win over Stoke before teaming up with Hungary for World Cup duty and his first senior start, against Croatia.

Owls set for Redan swoop    Fri, Oct 14 2005 09:43
Sheffield Wednesday boss Paul Sturrock is keen to try and sign trialist Iwan Redan in the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old Willem II forward impressed during a short spell with the Owls, but Sturrock will have to wait to get his man.

He told the club's official website: "If we were to do anything with Iwan, it would be negotiating now for the windows, maybe to take him on loan in January first.

"There would be a fee involved in this one so I would have to make sure we don't get it wrong.

"Some foreign players don't adapt to the English game, but he looks comfortable playing at our high tempo and he does look as though he could adapt."
