Diarra was ready to go long before Xmas

I find it amazing that some pundits, including Tony Adams, and even some Arsenal fans, say they can't understand why Wenger let Diarra go. Now as I understand it he refused to play for Arsenal twice in the Carling Cup, after the first time Wenger was quite sympathetic and did not behave like the ogre some of Diarra's brown nosers would have us believe.
Indeed on the 17 December Wenger told the press, "I'm unhappy that he is unhappy and we will try to make him happy. It takes some months to integrate in the club and he arrived late - We live in a world of competition for places and we have to accept that. That's part of our job."
How cruel and nasty of Wenger, I am sure Tony Adams would have been far more sensitive with a player who had refused to play. Let's start a petition, and a collection for flowers, to make up for this cruel treatment by the beastly Arsene.
But Diarra's refusal to play was not off the cuff it was part of a determined campaign to force Wenger's hand, a campaign that started as early as 22 October 2007. For on that day it was reported that he told the The Times: "For the moment, everything is going fine and I'm learning, but I cannot stay like this for ever.
- "I'm not going to wait for a year because I changed clubs in order to play. I'm not stupid. If I come to Arsenal and my situation is the same as at Chelsea, then I should have stayed at Chelsea. If I come to Arsenal, it's to play. In a few months, I'll have to decide what I want to do."
"I've played more games for my country than for my club, which is ridiculous," he said. "When I came to Chelsea, I was 19, so to wait for a year is OK, but when I'm playing for the French national team with the European Championship coming, I need to play regular football."
"I cannot stay like this, going to training but staying at home at weekends and sometimes playing in the Carling Cup. I cannot accept this now."
"When Wenger signed me, he knew the player I am. I've been in this kind of situation before, so it's not new to me."
"I've waited for a long time, but I'm 22 and cannot wait as I have in the past. I know Arsenal are a very good team, playing good football and top of the league, but I want to play."
"If I'm not playing by Christmas I may have to go somewhere else."
Thus it is quite clear that he didn't see the Carling Cup as a way into the first team. Players like Walcott, Fabregas and Bendtner have all seen it as a way into the Arsenal first team, but not Diarra. He is too great to have to prove himself. Indeed Wenger was only given to Xmas to prove himself to Diarra. Clearly Wenger failed the test. Diarra gave Chelsea 3 years and Arsenal 3 months.
It is a pity Diarra went, he was clearly a real talent, I have to say as season ticket holder that I disagree with the way Arsene handled it. Diarra earns in a week what I earn in a year, and as a season ticket holder I pay a 20th of that to support Arsenal. I know it's extreme and hard on poor old Diarra but I think players should play to earn their money, and that includes reserve games if required. But Diarra typifies the modern footballer's contempt for the mugs who pay their wages. Note they do not fit into the vocabulary, not worthy of a mention.
So what's my disagreement with Arsene? I would have sacked and fined him, the first time, and given the fans that travelled up North to support their team a share of Diarra's ill gotten gains. How does the Diarra fan club think Alex Ferguson would have reacted? Bought him an ice cream?
Stop moaning Diarra, you got money for not playing, you got the move you requested, and you got a cup, so why attack Wenger even before the victory parade started?
I couldn't care less how good he is, why do we want a player who is a baby in terms of playing experience and a baby in his attitude?

Diarra has not been that good anyway. He gives the ball away far too much just as Bentley does.
Diarra is a c.unt and so is Bently.
Flamini likes to go on probing runs off the ball. for a DM this is a good quality. It has served him well bearing the odd goal.
AW knows to get the best out of Hleb Cesc Rosicky Persie Adebayor Eduardo he needed a DM who would play off the ball, steal it and release it IMMEDIATELY to the frontline.

This is why we lose so many good players. People thinking Arsenal is the only football club around. Like telling Flamini to "prove" himself. So if he broke his leg then what? Out of contract, no teams.
If you want a player, you give him a reason to play for your team and make clear the terms. Not "we are Arsenal, we play the best football on the planet, it is an honour to play for us. Come at age 22 and sit on the bench"

AW did gave him games bit here and there. And that is one way to access him if he could gel well. He can't be possibly come to a team at the very last minute and started to boss around and says he deserved to play every game. What makes him so special from the rest who has trained far more longer with the team.
From the comments he made after leaving Arsenal shows that he is arrogant and impatient.
I doubt he'll be a class player.

but the fact is, diarra came to arsenal just to further his own career and nothing else. he came with a mindset that said 'What can this club do for me'. he was least bothered that others like bacary are wondering whether they can contribute anything to this team. the approach was wrong and all he cared was to become a star player. from our point of view, we cant look after players who dont want to look after us.
its like having a mistress who's in it just for the money.
we need to just get a replacement because the fact is we lost flamini and now looks like hleb ( and jens lol) but serious we needed to streangthen in the summer not get rid ...now we have to buy 2 players plus more otherwise it would just be a straight swap for 2 players then tht means we havent added to our squad

Im sorry, but Wenger was wrong. You got Diarra promising play time. You knew the kind of player he was. He would only come if he would play. Then you tell him to play through the mickey mouse cup if at all.

What the f*ck are you on about? When on earth would Arsene Wenger promise anyone, let alone Diarra he would play?
And you think a player who has done virtually nothing in the game and absolutely nothing at Arsenal has a right to demand to play?
Did you think for one moment that Diarra was unaware of all the good players at Arsenal? If he was, then he must be even more stupid than I thought, which is saying something. He's been at two of the best teams in Europe and thought he knew better than them. What a d*ck.
And then you say 'like telling Flamini to prove himself'. Sorry, which is it? Flamini plays out of his skin for us then you tell him he is dropped because Diarra says he didn't come from Chelsea just to sit on the bench?
This is the top of the English Premier League we're talking about here, not a Sunday League team where a player's firm sponsors the kit and so he gets to play.
And then you say 'this is why we lose so many good players'. Really? Bentley went because he thought he was good enough to play in front of Bergkamp, Henry & Pires. Which he wasn't. And still isn't. Cole went for the money. Pennant went because he was a waste of space. Flamini has gone for the money. Hleb is going for the money and to avoid getting kicked quite so often. Vieira, Henry, Pires & Campbell went because they were past their best.
So who are you talking about? We're not ManU where Stam, Beckham & van Horseface all went after proving themselves as top players & were still at the top of their game.
You need to think about what you are going to say before you post such a stupid load of nonsense next time.
Or maybe you are as stupid as Diarra because he talked complete sh*te while at Arsenal & has since he joined Portsmouth.
Or didn't you hear him say he will play for Portsmouth until a big club comes in for him.
Anelka had the same attitude and now 10 years on says he should never have left Arsenal.

His move to Arsenal from Chelsea is no different from that to Portsmouth. Done only to get playing time. If Wenger knew we had Flamini & Gilberto at the time, both playing well, why did he bring Diarra (knowing his attitude) in when everyone knew he was desperate to leave chelsea to get play time?
Wenger brought on himself unnecessary criticism because of his obsession to penny pinch and what I feel was a dishonest transfer.
Padre why do you blame Harry yet, Wenger is exempt from criticism for bringing in Diarra under the circumstances in the first place?
Also, Wenger said that he bought Diarra, because he felt Flamini might not stay...and I bet he didnt realise that Diarra would be so impatient
What BIG team can a 22yr old go in and dictate a guaranteed spot?
Wenger told him to be patient, but he didnt want too...then Wenger was confident that Flamini would re-sign...so he sold Diarra
