Same old same old; 14 games, 40 goals, one draw

It wasn't a bad result, a point away against a team that has only lost one game in 35 at home. Not bad seven points from 3 games and the next two games are at home. Not bad at all, but somehow it still grates that Arsenal threw away a game in the last few seconds.

This team is incapable of keeping a clean sheet, and it can't be about age, Clichy, Sagna, Vermaelen and Gallas, no spring chickens there, all have lots of experience.

The longer the game went on the more you felt that the Gunners would give away the sucker goal, and so they did. A great move created out of nothing by Arshavin had given Arsenal an early lead. All that was undone by a failure to score another, and the inability to defend, why bother to say anymore about the match?

The only point worth thinking about is that Liverpool and Barcelona also cannot defend. It would appear that we are going through a general phase where defenders are not as effective as they used to be. I still can't help thinking that as much improved as the Arsenal attack is, the glass jaw that is the defence may mean we will remain pot less for another season.

However, considering how tired the squad still looks, and that Vela was denied a banker of a penalty the result will do, and hopefully they will have recovered in time for the Hammers on Sunday.

We should have won but a draw is no bad result,we are playing really well(and proving me wrong at the same time) but you always get the impression we can concede from nothing.Scoring has been proving no problem, but in a tight game,ie Manure we have to learn to keep tight and not gift our opponents goals,if they earn one with good play then that may be accepted, but we tend to shoot ourselves in the foot.
I still feel we are not altogether well served in the GK department, but I will not complain if we can continue playing as we are,IMO we have not deserved a defeat in any game and I include the Manchester games in that.

same old story.concede a stupid goal after failing to kill of the game.old habits that won't die. CONCENTRATION IS KEY IF ARSENAL HOPE TO WIN A LOT OF THESE GAMES WHEN THEY ARE HOLDING UNTO A LONE GOAL. if they can't keep their concentration level on top of their game then things like this will keep happening.

Exactly AJ. However if they are going to learn a draw away that doesnt matter is the least painful

In this case, killing off the game had nothing to do with it

bottomline is no team other than us goes for a goal in the final minutes of play..how is it possible to be offside in such a situation...

you play keep ball..especially with less than a minute to go..I think that is standard basic football
