For Arsenal this is a dead rubber, it doesn't matter at all. Whatever the result they will lead the group. For Olympiacos it is all important, any win by Standard Liege, and according to my calculations, they go out. The reason being that the head to head aggregate score is 4-3 to Liege.
So even though its one win apiece Liege have the better of it over the two games. It could be that UEFA has an even more complicated method for who should qualify, but it doesn't change my main premise that this match doesn't matter to Arsenal fans - except for one thing.
When I watched Arsenal Youth play Man City in the fizzy cup I wasn't that impressed by any of the younsters on display. Yes I know that's heresy, everyone loves Jack, but he didn't make an impact did he?
They all seemed powder puff to me, couldn't hack it in the last third, just like the vets couldn't hack it in the first third. So perhaps I was just being unreasonable, being bitter and twisted in my thoughts about the match.

One good thing about Arsenal being booted off cable TV is ATVO. Is there anything good about ATVO you ask? Hardly any programs, blotchy and spluttery etc. Well one thing is you can watch it when you want, and if you download it doesn't splutter, and is slightly less blotchy.
Anyhow I digress, I got in late, well ish, on Friday and decided to watch Friday Live, except it was no longer live (get on with it. Editor), and my favourite pundit Stuart Robson was reviewing the Man City game and his summing up was that none of the youth had played well enough to put any first team player under pressure. Brilliant Robbo - you had summed up my feelings perfectly.
Robbo never shoots from the hip, he is cool and considered in his analysis, and on this occasion he was absolutely right, not one of them was knocking at the door of a first team place.Individual performances will count on Wednesday, of course it's a team game, but any youngster who wants to do well at Arsenal will have to impress in this final, and meaningless, at least for us, CL match day. As it is I can see quite a few going out on loan at Xmas.

nevertheless i hope is not a game that will end with another injury list cos we need all the personnel we can get even if they aren't really good enough.
