Wenger in handshake horror - Ramsey is all what counted

Arsene Wenger was caught red handed in front of millions of viewers shaking Olympiacos coach Zico by the hand after his team was roundly defeated in Athens last night. I could not believe it rang in one shocked viewer. Talk Sh*t* radio was outraged, "that's no example to set our kids, raged one caller he was even seen to embrace the Brazilian coach".

That's no role model for our kids added Stan Collymore, they will all grow up namby pambies, and not get involved in manly sports like dogging. Others were completely surprised as it's a well-known fact that Wenger never ever shakes hands when his team loses. He probably just did it to upset Mark Hughes said one disgusted caller.
Even worse, after his team's defeat and their pathetic inability to do more than just top their group he seemed relaxed and smiling. In particular, he singled out the non-Englishman Ramsey for extra praise. He insisted his team had done well and that he was proud of them. What a disgrace.
On the match
Before the game I wrote that all that mattered was which individuals performed well and put pressure on the first team. This was a good team performance, and they only lost for two reasons, one an individual error for the goal, and secondly a lack of incisive finishing. Chances were made but Vela and Walcott certainly are not putting on any pressure on anyone at present. At least Walcott has an excuse. Personally, I could wait a little longer for Vela's long-term contract.
Tom Cruise did not out perform George Clooney, who once again made some good saves. Wilshere had a quiet night, and a loan spell can only do him good. Merida did have a good game, but it was Ramsey who was man of the match. His passing was astonishing, and he has a strong physique. He mixed long passes with short defence splitting ones, time and time again he came away with the ball in midfield. He is not Fabregas, and he is not Gerrard, he is a combination of the best of them.
Fabianski also staked a claim for the next time Almunia slips up; he certainly dominates his area, and is more than a shot stopper.
If I were a first team player I would feel the pressure of Ramsey's performances threatening my place. Wenger is right to protect him, a good player at 18 can be rubbish by the time they are 20, but increasingly it would appear that Ramsey will be ready sooner than later.
Yesterdays match was meaningless, unless you are an Olympiacos fan, but for Arsenal fans' it might become remembered as the night Ramsey came of age.
