Wenger Campaign for Premiership Spring Break - Massive Point

Arsene Wenger informed the media after the bore draw against Manchester City that he is to campaign for a spring break that runs from March 27th to April 24th. He believes that playing football in April seriously undermined his team's title challenge.

Those who say we should have a winter break are talking nonsense an exasperated Wenger told the media. If you look at our winter results we did absolutely fine.

"My squad didn't feel the strain until we went to Birmingham on March 27th, when Arsenal conceded a very unlucky goal off Philip's nose in the last seconds of the game. It was the stress of playing in Spring that destroyed our maturity, mental strength and concentration."

April Shower - the stats

Wenger told the assembled press that he had got the statistics to prove that April was the cause of his team's back to back defeats, and the subsequent collapse of their title challenge.

"We played four games in the Premiership, losing two, drawing one and winning one. If it wasn't for Bendtner's goal in the 93 rd minute against Wolves it could have been no wins for the whole of April. If the Champions League is included then it is 6 games with 3 losses, two draws and one win. That proves the manifest unfairness of forcing my team to play in April".

"Just because of April my team won't get the credit they deserve, some people argue that rather than having a Spring break I should strengthen the squad. But I refuse to kill my young players; you take a look into the bovine eyes of Fabianski and Denilson and tell me you could shoot them."

Bore Draw

In the pub afterwards the Bank Posse mostly agreed that Serie A had come to Britain. The stats confirm it, Man City had one shot on target, and one off. This could be put down to great Italian style defending by the Arsenal or to great Italian style conservatism by Man City. The facts would mainly bear out the latter, as City had one man up and 9 men behind the ball for most of the game. City did not have a corner until 62 minutes.

True Mancini tried to nick it by putting Adebayor on to support Tevez, but he must have forgot how useless the bloke was as even Silvestre was able to lock him up and throw away the key.

Meanwhile Wenger played into Mancini's hands by having a lightweight forward line that only made an impression when Bendtner came on. Bendtner created more in 20 minutes than Walcott did in 70, Nik's presence invigorated RvP, who then had his best spell. Arsenal managed four shots on target the whole game.

Thank goodness Mancini finally put Adebayor on, at least booing this Judy Garland lookalike added the only interest of the evening.

Thanks Mancini a Massive One Point

Well I have to admit I felt quite relieved when the whistle went, it was a massive point that has at least guaranteed fourth place. If City had actually attacked I dread to think what might have happened, after all its still April, which is the new November.

it's great to be really an educated gruaduate in the midst of dullards. i wonder why the media always make the same error. wenger is master in statistics cos he keeps records..it comes with training...

well i have to agree with you that a draw wasn't so bad considering the 4:2 bashing we got from citey..Ade wasn't useless,he was showing his true color.or have you forgotten he is better than drogba/torres and messi put together..(Sm100)

Can We Now Trust The Process 🤔🤷🏿‍♀️ or Should We Still Remain Cautious 🙇🏿‍♀️

4-2 was hardly a bashing in reality and quite an inaccurate reflection, we could've easily won that game.
