Cesc tells team remember what shirt we are wearing

Cesc Fabregas has told his team mates that Arsenal's championship hopes died at Tottenham, but that it was made even worse at Wigan as the team took the opposition for granted. Fabregas believes that the team thought it was going to be easy at 2-0 and then eased up. He then goes on to say that "it's not the Arsenal way". Clearly Cesc is not happy with his team mates.
With the Blackburn game coming up and a point essential to guarantee third place it's good to hear that the Arsenal captain shares the fans disappointment at the way eight months hard work was thrown away in the course of a few days and two matches.
Remember the shirt
With only a couple of games left Cesc has called on his team mates to remember what shirt they are wearing and win the remaining games for the honour of the club.
Arsenal have a good record against Blackburn, and has scored 14 goals against them in the last 3 meetings. However, this is not a particularly high scoring Arsenal Team having struggled to score throughout April. The one time the team managed to score more than once they proceeded to ship in three losing 3-2 at Wigan.
Butterfingers
Arsenal have dropped 12 points from winning positions playing away this season, ironically more than other team apart from Wigan (13). Perhaps not so much pride in that shirt as there should be.
I can also imagine Fat Sam gleefully explaining to his team how to unsettle Flapianski. Mind you Flappers will have to concede quite a few against Blackburn to catch up with Paul Robinson who has let in 47 goals in his last 15 league games against Arsenal. There is always someone worse off than yourself and Blackburn have conceded 54 goals this season; making Arsenal's 39 conceded look almost good. So much for plan B.
This match almost borders on meaningless, an end of season stroll before the beach or World Cup calls, however third place means that Arsenal will not need to go through the qualifiers for the CL, and for big Sam a victory would be his World Cup.
A draw by any means will do, and would ensure that team and fans alike could relax against Fulham next week. Wenger expects a good game, but what you expect and what you get are often very different.
Injury List
Almunia is not expected back for this game, but there is a slight chance that Arshavin will play some role. The team should be similar to the one that started against Man City. A possible difference could be Eboue possibly starts and Walcott is on the bench.

With the money these players are on, the how could they forget what shirt they`re wearing? IMO it`s got very little to do with attitude ( I don`t see too much problem with our attitude on the park) and a whole lot more to do with leadership. No Cesc, no William and no TV simply means there is next to no leadership on the park.
I`ve said this before on here. but it`s paramount that young players have great leadership.
Lets go through the other candidates Rosicky, Campbell and Sylvestre, all seasoned, experienced and have tasted success in the past. But they`re all past their best and have to concentrate on their own games and show little leadership on the park. AA is a captain (Russia) but is a very poor example of captaincy. The only other candidate is Almunia and in general, keepers don`t make good captains. He also has enough problems keeping clean sheets, to have captaincy placed on his shoulders.

Well its Cesc's point of view, and when a team throw away a 2 goal lead and lose with only 10 mns left its not the Arsenal way. Attitude must be a problem

If the attitude was good for 80mins, what does it take to reinforce that attitude after that 1st goal scored by Wigan?

It wasnt good for 80 mins, in fact you could see the team easing off not long after they scored second goal.They gave up pushing for the third

There was leadership, Campbell was doing everything he could to keep the team fired up, but most of the players insisted on dozing and Flapianski is not up to it.
I dont think Cesc would hint that some of them are not to wear the shirt without good cause.
And when he says its not the Arsenal way the majority of fans agree with him.

Difference between our team and teams like Man Utd, Barca, Chelsea, is that when our Wengerball isn't working, we don't focus and work as a team to win the 50/50 challenges or win the ball back from midfield.
Cesc and Song work hard, but Diaby, Arshavin, Walcott, Nasri can all get very complacent and lazy.
We just don't have that grit about our team like the others, although i think it has improved this season.
My opinion anyway, but i'm sure there are lots of other factors.

completely agree with that. We are so stand-offish these days. We aeriously need to work on what to do when we don't have the ball in pre-season.

the attitude wasn't right...the substitution and the timing of the the substitution was totally wack.......... the issue for me is that the attitude required comes from winning plus the mentality of winning trophies which majority of the players clearly don't have.the worse thing is that wenger has brainwashed them into believing that as long as your playing the wenger way winning doesn't matter...............

Maybe you should listen Tom? I didnt see the Arsenal way today, and very few deserve to wear the shirt, either not enough talent, guts or effort and sometimes lacking in all three

well considering we are not mathematically assured of 3rd, and should we get 4th we have to play 2 very meaningful games in the CL qualifiers in an UNSEEDED draw - I would rather make it into the CL direct rather than risk two games against the likes of fiorentina
