Thank goodness for a disputed referees decision, because up until then Arsenal were not playing that well, and the crowd were somewhat bored by Everton’s time wasting and bus parking.But on 24 minutes the stadium came to life, Saha miles offside was kindly assisted by Koscielny. Not one to waste a gift he put it in the net, how unsporting, he could have tried a back pass or something, but no he put it in the net.

The crowd and team expected it to be ruled offside, but the ref refused to change his mind. It looked offside, but the rules are very complicated these days and even Andy Gray would struggle to explain this one, so I will move on.

Anyhow it’s an ill wind that blows nobody any good, and it livened up what looked being a boring stalemate. It got the crowd simmering nicely.

Everton sort of have Arsenal’s number, they know how to disrupt our game, leastways when Lescott has left. Fellaini is head and shoulders above the Arsenal midgets, he is 6 foot four and a half, but his Afro makes him seven foot tall. He uses a very stiff lacquer on it so it makes for a crash helmet. It’s no exaggeration to say that no one can stand up to him. Players scatter in fear before him. He is a monster of a player (that’s a complement, but my apologies if I upset the Adams Family) and at times he seemed to be outplaying our whole midfield.

Everton are great at blocking and niggling, especially when the idiot of a ref helps them, but in the parallel universe that the blues fans inhabit they thought he was favouring the Arsenal – what a load of toffee.

I could have had 7-1

So it was one down at halftime, quite a regular occurrence, how many times have we gone in comfortable at half time? Well Chelsea, yes that’s true, and Blackpool, oh yes, and Spurs, yes but we lost that. So apart from Blackpool and Chelsea how many times have we gone in comfortable at half time?

It was looking decidedly dodgy, then a mate sent a text at half time saying put £5 on a 2-1 win, I text back “I am in my seat”. What a mug, I should have gone back, its only 27 rows up. After the match he told me he got £35 for his fiver.

Master Strategy of Subbing

Arsenal tried to equalise, but they were not making much headway, it was all becoming rather predictable, and Rosicky couldn’t score in a brothel. So when he went off and Arshavin came on the crowd suddenly realised when they are well off. Everyone sang his song – is he really 5’ 4”? Well I’ve just googled it and he is actually 5’ 7”, but then that wouldn’t rhyme with Adebarndoor.

Maybe his loss of form is down to insecurity about his height, why don’t we change it to he is 6’ 4” that would rhyme and he could stand tall. Of course when the dictatorial bureaucrats of Europe make us go metric none of it will rhyme, but I digress.

Arshavin changes the game

After only 8 minutes Arshavin equalised, what a goal, true it was a great ball from Cesc, but what technique, what a beauty. How many players would have scored that? Denilson you say? Come on you can’t be serious.

Greatness is as greatness does, the bloke has been on poor form, but he has continued to work hard. He has been honest, admitted that he was off form, and here he was scoring an all important goal.

Now for the first time Arsenal played fluent football, and the place was rocking, the atmosphere was fantastic, on 76 minutes the crowd sucked the ball into the net from a van Persie corner, and once again the ref got it wrong and awarded the goal to Koscielny. Hopefully the Dubious Goals committee (is it the committee that is dubious?) will award it back to the crowd.

Of we all went cheering and whooping, I had never doubted for a moment.
