Emery surprise for Eddie Report and Ratings

Surprising isn't it when we and Eddie Howe expected the "same old same old" and Arsenal hit them with a 3-4-3. Eddie Howe knew that he had Emery in his gun-sight with his pacy and tricky and physical Forward-5 in Brook-King-Wilson-Ferguson adding physical power to flair.

A mundane 4-2-3-1 may have resulted in Bournemouth carving up Arsenal’s soft-centre like a Christmas turkey.
Arsenal almost closed the barn door in the centre with Holding-Sokratis-Mustafi leaving King and Wilson with no room to manoeuvre in the centre with their traditional run between defenders over-powering them with physical strength and pace.
But Emery still needs to recognize our vulnerability to swift counter-attack with all our wingbacks and midfielders caught high up on the pitch. And it took Bournemouth just 10 seconds to score from their counter-attack.
And a 5-4-1 in defensive mode and 3-4-3 during attack help us to unsettle Bournemouth and forced their wingers to spend more time tracking our wingbacks in Kolasinac and Bellerin down the flanks.
But it is awful when we are carrying a passenger in Mkhitaryan who simply lacks physical strength, easily pushed off the ball and going down too often in physical confrontation. Wonder who got the best deal now with Mkhi apparently on the decline and still not settled into physical English Football. He was woeful and how he remained on the pitch is beyond me.
But we almost thrown it all away with the traditional Mustafi lurched at the edge of the box … what a brainless twit when there was no call for him to make their lurch with Bellerin in front of the Bournemouth player and plenty of our defenders in support in the box.
Iwobi?
This game reinforces my point that Iwobi is just all flash and fluff and simply does not have that spatial awareness and peripheral vision to spot an open channel like what Ozil has in executing a through ball through a thicket of legs and bodies. You either has it or don't. it is painful to what his predictable through balls which either hit a Bournemouth player or simply a ball to nowhere. Of course, a broken down clock will get the time right twice a day (well he played a good role in the winning goal. Ed).
Kolasinac is a wingback, playing offensive football with decent defensive attribute but certainly not a traditional full-back that defends. I see him more of an Armand Troare rather than a Clichy.
RATINGS
8 - Leno - My MOTM who got us 3 points instead of 1. His command of the box is reassuring and his ball distribution is superb.
7 - Bellerin - getting into the style that Emery wanted him to play as an attacking threat on the right. He still can improve further.

7 - Holding - improving all the time and wonderful to watch him joining the attack on left flank and has the confidence to play high-up as another left wingback.

6 - Sokratis - an old pro willing to take a card for the team. Decent outing handling two quick and physical English forwards.

5 - Mustafi - He just never learned with all his brainless lurches. Need to be replaced.
7 - Belleirn - a joy to watch on the right and seems to get his Arsenal career back on track, Just wait for another tapping episode from Barca pretty soon.
4 - Mkhitaryan - Manu Mourinho got the last laugh.
6 - Xhaka - where was he on the pitch?
7 - Torreira - our Mighty mouse that can shoot and setup attacks better than Mkhi.
6 - Iwobi - one extra point for that assisting that winner. Other than that as useful as a udder on a bull in creating plays.
6 - Aubameyang - Missit Blisset and needed too many chances to score.

You left out Kolasinac Sky MotM who had a great attacking game (Ed).

3 - Ramsey - his body language said it all. He doesn’t want to be here. And when he had that one chance to setup swift counter-attack, he dwelt on the ball too long whereas one long pass to a free player on the flank will do. Emery was right to consign his extension to the dust-bin.
Guendouzi - too little time to rate.
Nketiah - he did not even touch the ball.
