S*d Sustainability Cough Up Kroenke

It's that time of year again when all teams look to improve their squad before the new season and fans become their clubs accountants. They will see players being sold and question why the price is so low and see transfer stories links their clubs with high fees. Of course they then question why a club will pay so much for a player of a particular quality.
This is part of fan culture although fans will never get a say on the actual deals it's club makes. Fans naturally want a well ran club that is always getting the best deals, so every year their club becomes better on the pitch, or richer due to good transfer dealing.
With the emergence of oil money introduced into football, Clubs have been under huge pressure to spend more and keep up with clubs like
Chelsea and Man City.
However for Arsenal only as far back as 2018 Arsenals new managing director Vinai Venkatesham stated "We have a self-sustaining business model at this club. That means all the investments we make on the pitch are funded by the revenues we generate off the pitch - And we're really confident we can be successful with this model. The ambition we have for this club is completely possible to be achieved in the business model that we've got. "
This should have meant Arsenal mean business, no more poor deals and players running down contracts to one year, no more players going on a free. Arsenal however have been pretty poor in the transfer market for over a decade they have bought a lot of average players at their max value or sold players past their peak value, and under Vinai's management it still continued.
So this is not new, for example management selling every invincible player a year earlier than we did could have put the club in a better position than it is now. Ashley Cole left Arsenal for 5mil which is still to today the most shocking business Arsenal have done.
If you take anything thing from what I'm saying understand that
For a successful business model to work players have to be assets
and teams need to be refreshed.
Teams in similar positions to Arsenal are Liverpool and dare I say Tottenham who have been aroundthe top of the table for the last 5 seasons but would they be where they are today without the sales of Bale, Modric, Walker, Suarez, Sterling and Coutihno.
Players that have given them the money to reinvest into the team which saw them both the 2019 Champions league finalists.
Arsenal right now have no sellable assets that can elevate the club where it needs to be, you could say Saka would bring in money but not the type that will get a team from 8th to 1st.
So the only strategy I see left now for Arsenal is backing from the owners. Stan Kroenke will have to pay for all our bad deals and transfer disasters while he's been in charge.
He should inject an equivalent to the 142million Liverpool got for Coutinhno and the 92mil Tottenham got for Bale from his own pocket.
It is the amount needed to get Arsenal back competing, it's a lot of money for your regular owner but Stan Kroenke is worth 8 billion.
Not to say all this money will go to big players on big fees, not to say there won't be more mistakes but we need a refreshing of the squad.
Daniel Ek Spotify owner wanted to buy Arsenal from Stan and his reply was "they don't need the money".
This statement without an influx of players sounds alarming because throughout the history of clubs if a millionaire owner couldn't afford players, he would sell to a Billionaire to secure a clubs future and buy players.
Surely a Billionaire willing to spend on the club at a time of crisis is what Arsenal need right now. It seems the league position and direction of the club isn't a concern of the Kroenke's.
The Kroenke's saying they don't need the money is
a statement that says they're rich and this is not a regular business to them. So I don't care if they pay English tax, or pay 10mil extra on any deal because they believe they have the money to do more than Daniel EK ever could do and Arsenal is their responsibility.
Just like KSE will pay "Arsenal's" super league fine, KSE need to pay for Arsenal's years of mismanagement.
Which means they should have an understanding that our squad is 200mil behind in talent, or at least recognise the club hasn't made Europe and is on the decline. Are they willing to put the necessary money down to compete for the title? Fans have continually scouted young affordable players before they were stars, fans have wanted players sold only to be ignored.
We've done it for 10 years and still ended up in the same place we didn't want to be.
It's time for fans to forget about transfer fees and contracts like the big
teams do and just demand good signings. Every good signing is worth their fee.

He promoted it as model we have to take to remain competitive.
It was his drive and genius that allowed our club to move from Highbury to Emirates, without putting us under decades of debt. Fair enough.
But what does that mean?
All of Europe’s top, competitive clubs are under huge debt and they remain competitive.
Where as, we sold off our invincibles without reinvesting in like for like replacements.
We went ‘cheap’ because we were told that we needed to so we could keep up financially, with the ‘top clubs’ in Europe, in the future
As it’s turned out to be exactly the opposite, in that we are no longer competitive either on the field or within the transfer market, we, the fans, the reason our club exists, have been taken for a ride to BSvil by this model.
10 yrs ago our clubs match-day tickets were the most expensive in Europe.
It was about the only measure, we were the top club in. FFS
Arsenal fc must dismiss this SS model because self-sustainable simply means we will remain uncompetitive for as long as we remain self sustainable.
Ever heard of the term ,’ Playing on an unlevel playing field’?
That’s the true meaning of this self sustainable model.
I believe that this model was put in place, not for the betterment of our club, but to increase profit levels to our ownership and that’s all there is to it.
Uter BS from start to finish. F.uck our owners. I hate them.
Since the end of WW1, 1919, when the FA restarted its 4 tier football league, with Arsenal fc in the 1st div, there’s only ever been one club to have never been relegated from Div 1/ EPL.

The crowd got fed up of waiting so demanded Wenger go (remember he backed the strategy), he went and Gazidis fled not long afterwards.
We were stitched up by a lie.
"When we had to suffer the team is a lion because they suffer together." 4 July 2020 at Wolverhampton Wanderers
Arteta on his team's first away victory at a club above them in the Premiership since September 2015 at Leicester.
Wenger, Emery and Arteta's failed in the self-sustainable model is that we are no longer top-4 every season.

Are any of the top four self sustainable?
NO!
Man City- sugar- family club
Man U - mountains of debt and still one of the biggest players in the transfer market
Liverpool - probably the closest to a SS club, but still heavily in debt and a big player in the market.
Chelsea - sugar-daddy club.
Arsenal - pretends to be SS club, but in the current financial climate it’s utterly impossible to break even and be competitive.
IMO, with super low interest fates, it’s not a time to tighten the belt. It’s a time to spend
If ever there was a time to invest big- time, and I’m talking 200m +, it’s right now.
Money in the bank is loosing money.
Our ownership is at the very top-end of richness. Up there with the Chelsea’s and ManCities.
There’s only one thing stopping us being competitive again and that’s called ambition.

One must dream.
Else one is just trudging along to survive rather than to life to its fullest.
C'est la vie!:

And why every season I started off with glitters in my eyes "We will win the title" on this Arsenal perennial emotional roller coaster ride.
One must dream.
Else one is just trudging along to survive rather than to life to its fullest.
C'est la vie!:
Exactly Merl.
But it’s not what I’m saying.
I don’t expect us to be competitive with the other big clubs, for another 3 or 4 seasons, at least.
ATM all I’m hopeful for is to be out of Europe for only one season. That’s top5 or 6.
3 places better than the last 2 seasons.
Any more and it’s a dream.
