Tavares MotM Ratings v Villa

This result was huge and much needed. Every player was excellent and stepped up. I said after the Tottenham game this has to be the standard, well after tonight surely the penny will drop and they'll play consistently with the same application at least.
Ramsdale 7 - He didn't have much to do but he was howling at the defence and his distribution is special. Had no chance with their goal.
Tomi 8 - Huge energy levels from him tonight and his passing was much better. He's a CB 's dream as he knows how to tuck in as he's played at CB plenty of times.
White 8 - Much much better. Great blocks and a few good runs. His passing was better as well.
Gabriel 8 - Another excellent performance from him. He bullied Watkins.
Tavares 9 - My MOTM. He was dynamic, quick and played some great passes with both feet. Very exciting. Tierney doesn't deserve to come back immediately.
Partey 8 - His best performance for a long time. Finally scored. Got a deserved rollicking from Ramsdale for bottling a challenge for their goal.
Lokonga 8 - His best performance in a Arsenal shirt. Needs to stop dreaming of scoring though and passing instead of shooting.
Saka 8 - Much better. Give their LB a torried time. Should have scored.
Laca 8- Has found a new lease of life. Was strong and linked the play brilliantly. Odegaard needs to learn from him.
Smith Rowe 9 - Fantastic. Work rate, intelligence and got a good goal from a great run off the ball.
Auba 8- Another player who looks like his got his hunger back. His work rate was phenomenal and he put in a captain's performance. Done well to finish with his left foot.
SUBS:
AMN- 5 Sloppy.
Odegaard-5 Not much impact.

Everybody an 8 except Esr who gets a 9 .
Very good performance.
Wish we wasn't so Jekyll and Hyde.
Tavares added pace and energy what Tierney doesn't. Just his final ball at times.
Lokonga the same. Needs to learn to play the final ball. And concentrate 100% on defending.
Both these 2 are young and new to the prem so will take time to adjust fully. But look great prospects.
Lacca worked his socks off until he got cramps.
White had his best game. Put some great blocks in. One which was a header.
Odegaard looks the weak link.
Still a worry when we have AMN and Kolasinac on the bench.

Great performances overall. Everyone busted their gut to win this game. Tavares and Lokonga need to remember to play for the team first before seeking personal glory. I have no issues with them wanting to shoot because I think our team overall does not do it enough. But they need to make better decisions to pass to a colleague who is in a better position before pulling the trigger.

Meaning, play with their head up and more coaching to develop peripheral vision to decide when to pass, and when to shoot.

It was a sweet victory considering what they did to us last season. From Emi saving the pen but Auba still scoring, his effective replacement Ramsdale saving from the player we lost out to them on, Buendia, and the player they wanted from us, ESR piยฃยฃing all over them.

Agreed, but Its not just them 2 who make the wrong choice when to shoot or pass. Most of the team is guilty of this.
