The boredom drags on wheres the break!

As the world cup drags on my mind turned to good old days when football was played at club level this time of year.
Looking back through the record books to see what happened on this day in past years. I discovered that Ted Drake scored seven goals at Villa exactly 87 years ago. Which in my mind seems more recent than the boredom of the Sportswashing going on in some far off distant place I never have any intention of going to.
On this day in 1957 Gordon Nutt scored in a 4-1 win over Preston North End. Might seem a long time ago to you, but I actually met him in Australia, in the late 1960s, playing in the lower leagues there. Seeing out the last of his career, I had actually seen him play for Arsenal in the late fifties.
Here's one for you youngsters, this day im 2003 Bergkamp scored the sole goal against Blackburn Rovers at the old stadium, It put us back on top of the league and the rest of course was history.
December is full of derring do and wonder deeds by Arsenal Players throughout the years, nothing can covince me it was worth abandoning December for the Sportswashers cup. Even Wenger seems to have lost his marbles as he trys to prove what a wonderful standard has been produced. I couldnt possibly comment I hevent bothered with any of it.
I have watched some key Women's Football games, and a bank of old films.
No doubt the lets shut football down for Xmas as we need a winter break brigade will be encouraged, well there has been a shutdown, but no break. As an Arsenal fan first second and third, this has done us no good at all. I hope FIFA rots.

Don't think the break has done us any harm at all (apart from Jesus obviously)
Some of our players have had a rest and recovered from knocks.
It's given time for ESR to recover as well for the final push.

Saying that I have enjoy watching a few of the underdog teams and a few players I didn't know anything about.
Can't wait until boxing day.
Got to say excluding England's exit, I have thoroughly enjoyed it overall.
