Theatre of Lows and Highs Ratings v Saints

A very cold night at the Emirates a match of lows and highs. The crwod stayed until the end and a massive roar for Saka Equaliser, but many deep in their hearts knew it wasnt enough, but it symbolises a mood of never say die that runs through the team and the supporters. But its too early for deep reflection so here are some ratings:

RATINGS:
Ramsdale 3 - Looked really edgy. The error set the tone
White 7 - Thought he played well. Got forward well. Almost scored
Holding 5 - Not responsible for the goals but Partey collecting the ball off him was telling
Gabriel 6 - Played with character but let Walnut run off him for the second goal
Zinchenko 5 - Love what he gives us in possession but poor defensively, especially the 3rd goal
Partey 4 - Looks inhibited, playing with an injury?? Vieira didn’t help
Vieira 3 - Looks lost out there. Never gets into the game
Ødegaard 6 - Dragged us back into the game but too little too late
Saka 8 - Goal and assist, kept trying. 5 key passes.
Jesus 5 - Ran about a bit, should’ve scored one or two
Martinelli 8 MOTM - Really good. Took it to them, great goal

Trossard 7 - I have no idea why he didn’t come on at HT for Vieira
Nketiah 5 - Ineffective
Nelson 7 - Not on for long but made a difference
Referee 4 - Book the time wasting keeper earlier you or.ick!

Holding 3 - Just not right this guy is playing at this level for us.
Gabriel 6 - Let Walnut run off him for the second goal. Lost without Saliba next to him.
Zinchenko 4 - Let us down defensively once more.
Partey 4 - Looks inhibited, playing with an injury?? Vieira didn’t help
Vieira 2 - This guy getting wages for passing as a footballer is criminal.
Ødegaard 5 - 10 minutes at the end is not good enough.
Saka 8 - Goal and assist, kept trying. 5 key passes.
Jesus 5 - Not great. He does miss chances.
Martinelli 8 MOTM - Really good. Took it to them, great goal.

Asked why Vieira, a £34million signing, endured such a difficult evening, Arteta said: ‘It was a difficult match for a lot of players but for Fabio, he hasn’t played enough minutes.
So why not replace him a lot earlier ?
We were terrible for 80 minutes and then we decide to up it for 10 minutes. (not acceptable)
Southampton must be disappointed.

It we actually our senior players who have been found wanting. Saka and Martinelli are unbelievable

Arsenal's hopes of winning the Premier League title suffered a blow as they drew 3-3 at home to Southampton, and there were some embarrassing statistics to add to their misery.
Aaron Ramsdale has now made six errors leading to an opposition shot in the Premier League this season, which is two more than any other player.
A mistake from Ramsdale in the first minute allowed Carlos Alcaraz to give Southampton an early lead.
Ramsdale has been largely impressive this season and has made some excellent saves at times, but he is still capable of making costly errors.
Furthermore, last night's game was the first time in Premier League history that the team at the bottom of the division has scored three goals against the leaders.
Only Southampton (one) have kept fewer clean sheets in home matches than Arsenal (three) in the league this season.
Arsenal have also conceded the two quickest goals in the Premier League this season - nine seconds when Philip Billing scored for Bournemouth, and Alcaraz's strike, which came after 28 seconds.
After Alcaraz had opened the scoring, Theo Walcott netted to make it 2-0 against his former club.
Gabriel Martinelli got a goal back for Arsenal but Duje Caleta-Car restored Southampton's two-goal advantage.
A late rally from Arsenal saw Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka score to make it 3-3, but the Gunners were unable to get a winner.
Arsenal are now five points ahead of title rivals Manchester City, but Pep Guardiola's side have two games in hand and the two teams also have to play each other at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
Arsenal have shown great consistency for much of the season but they have now drawn their last three league games in succession.
Following the high-profile clash against City, Arsenal will subsequently take on Chelsea, Newcastle, Brighton, Nottingham Forest and Wolves.

Arteta on his team's first away victory at a club above them in the Premiership since September 2015 at Leicester.
